Introduction: Olivan TS is a pain relieving medicine. It is used for treatment of pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery. Always wash your hands before using Olivan TS. Use only the number of drops that your doctor has prescribed and wait for about five minutes between each drop. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using the drops and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back in. You should not touch the tip of the dropper or bottle. How Olivan TS works: Olivan TS is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the eye.
Indication: Occular pain and inflammation, Cystoid macular edema
Adult Dose: Ophthalmic Prevention & treatment of post-op pain & inflammation 0.1%: Instill 1 drop 3 times daily 1 day prior to cataract surgery and continued on the day of surgery and through the first 2 weeks of the post-operative period. 0.3%: 1 drop once daily beginning 1 day before cataract surgery, on day of surgery, and continue through the first 2 weeks postoperatively; an additional drop should be administered 30-120 minutes before surgery Prevention of post-operative macular oedema in diabetic patients 0.1%: Instill 1 drop 3 times daily 1 day before surgery and continued on the day of surgery and through...

Contraindication: Contraindicated in patients with previously demonstrated hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the formulation or to other NSAIDs.
Mode of Action: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory prodrug, converted to amfenac which putatively inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis.
Precaution: Nepafenac should be used with caution in patients with known bleeding tendencies or who are receiving medications which may prolong bleeding time. Lactation: use caution
