How to use Myolax 50: Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Myolax 50 is to be taken with food.
How Myolax 50 works: Myolax 50 is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm without reduction in strength. This improves pain and movement of muscles.
What if you forget to take Myolax 50?: If you miss a dose of Myolax 50, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Indication: Painful muscle spasm associated with disorders of the locomotor system: Low back pain, sciatica, overstrain of joints, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, herniated disc, spondylosis, nerve root compression caused by osteoporosis, soft tissue inflammation (bursitis, periarthritis, humeroscapsularis). Muscle spasticity associated with neurological conditions: Stroke induced hemiparesis or hemiplegia, pyramidal tract lesion, multiple sclerosis, myelopathies, encephalomyelitis, spinal automatisms, paralysis spinalis spastica, cerebral palsy. Decreased peripheral circulation as seen in: Atherosclerosis obliterans, endarteritis obliterans, thromboangitis obliterans, Raynaud's disease, acrocyanosis, intermittent angioneurotic dysbasia. Special paediatric indications: Little's disease (spastic paralysis) and other encephalopathies accompanied by dystonia. Rehabilitation: Treatment after limb fractures followed by long term...
Administration: Should be taken with food.
Adult Dose: Oral Spasticity ; Muscle spasms Adult: 50-150 mg tid. Intramuscular Adult: One ampoule twice daily. Injection should be given slowly.
Child Dose: Oral Spasticity ; Muscle spasms Child: <6 yr: 5 mg/kg daily in 3 divided doses; 6-14 yr: 2-4 mg/kg daily in 3 divided doses.
Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to any component of the product Myasthenia gravis, Nursing mother
Mode of Action: Tolperisone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant.
Precaution: In case of children, the prescribed dose and duration of treatment should closely be observed.
Side Effect: Sometimes, muscular weakness, headache, nausea, vomiting and rarely hypersensitivity reactions may occur as side effects.
Interaction: Methocarbamol. Tolperisone HCl.
