It works by increasing the secretion of fluids in the intestine, thereby making the stool soft and easier to pass. Lubilax 8 is taken after meals to avoid nausea in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lubilax 8 is to be taken with food. How Lubilax 8 works: Lubilax 8 increases the secretion of fluids in the intestine, which in turn increases the motility of the intestine, thereby making the stool soft and easier to pass. What if you forget to take Lubilax 8?: If you miss a dose of Lubilax 8, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose. Mode of Action: Lubiprostone is a locally acting chloride channel activator that enhances a chloride-rich intestinal fluid secretion without altering sodium and potassium concentrations in the serum. Lubiprostone acts by specifically activating ClC-2, which is a normal constituent of the apical membrane of the human intestine. By increasing intestinal fluid secretion, Lubiprostone increases motility in the intestine, thereby facilitating the passage of stool and alleviating symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic constipation.
