It is used in the treatment of fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, and jock itch. It kills fungi by preventing them from making their protective covering. Fintop is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as directed by your doctor. The amount you need, and how long you take it will depend on what you are being treated for. You should normally wash and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of the medicine. You should avoid getting in contact with your mouth, eyes... Mode of Action: Butenafine, a benzylamine antifungal, inhibits the enzyme squalene monooxygenase thus decreasing sterol biosynthesis. Precaution: Avoid occlusive dressings. Avoid contact with mouth, eyes and other mucous membranes. Affected areas should be thoroughly cleansed with soap and dried prior to application. Hands should always be washed after applying cream.
