Indication: Indicated for hyperkeratotic conditions such as, dry rough skin, xerosis, ichthyosis, skin cracks and fissures, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, keratoses, calluses
Administration: Wash affected areas well, rinse off all traces of soap, dry, and apply sparingly.
Adult Dose: Topical/Cutaneous Ichthyosis and hyperkeratotic skin disorders Apply 10-25% cream/lotion topically to affected skin twice daily.
Child Dose: Safety and efficacy not established
Contraindication: Individuals who have hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Mode of Action: Applied topically, urea promotes hydration of keratin and mild keratolysis in dry skin. It increases water uptake by the stratum corneum and has an antipruritic effect.
Precaution: Avoid application to moist or broken skin and near the eye.
Side Effect: May produce local irritations (including erythema, burning or pruritus) and oedema when applied to sensitive, moist or fissured skin.
Interaction: Increased excretion of lithium.
