Introduction: BNZ is a medicine used to reduce increased pressure in the eye, in people with glaucoma or ocular hypertension(high pressure in the eye). If the pressure in your eye is too high it can damage your sight. BNZ works by decreasing the amount of fluid inside the eye. Never use BNZ if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time. Wash your hands before using it and shake the bottle well before each use. If you wear contact lenses, make sure you remove them before instilling and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them... Uses of BNZ: GlaucomaOcular hypertension Side effects of BNZ: Bitter taste How to use BNZ: This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid. How BNZ works: BNZ is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. It works by decreasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure. What if you forget to take BNZ?: If you miss a dose of BNZ, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose. Indication: Open-angle glaucoma , ocular hypertension Administration: May be used concomitantly with other topical ophthalmic drug products to lower intraocular pressure; if more than one topical ophthalmic drug being used, administer at least ten min apart Adult Dose: Adult: Ophth Open-angle glaucoma; Ocular HTN As 1% susp: Instill 1 drop 2-3 times/day. Contraindication: Brinzolamide 1% ophthalmic suspension is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product. Mode of Action: Brinzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that decreases secretion of aqueous humor thus reducing intraocular pressure. Precaution: Hepatic and renal impairment; pregnancy. Efficacy has not been established in angle-closure glaucoma. Ensure an interval of at least 10 minutes between admin of different ophthalmic solutions.
